                    Welcome to the art of Leah Bartholomay

  Leah Bartholomay was born in a rural New England town. She attended Montserrat College of Art in Boston Massachusetts developing her fine art skills. After transferring to Columbia College Chicago she completed her degree in Documentary Filmmaking.

Interning for a year with Chicago’s well know documentary production house, Kartemquin, Leah has work experience in every area of documentary filmmaking from preproduction to post. Leah received recognition for her short film THE GENE, which followed her mothers journey with breast cancer. Leah has two short stories published, and is the primary illustrator for an upcoming children’s book The Peace Garden of Color.

Leah attended the Australian International Documentary Conference as an honorary guest in February 2007 and pitched her film THE RIVER that will be shot in the summer of 2009. The film focuses on the dramatic changes that have taken place on the Mississippi river over the past century.

Leah graduated from Columbia College Chicago in the spring of 07’ with a wealth of knowledge in filmmaking, and an overwhelming ambition to create.
